Bosutinib – Uses, Side Effects and Precautions

Description

Bosutinib is used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in individuals who have been recently diagnosed or who have failed conventional therapies. It is used majorly when other cancer treatment methods do not provide satisfactory results.

Leukemia is a form of cancer that causes the body to produce abnormal white blood cells. Abnormal growth of white blood cells in the body leads to cancer which affects the patient severely.

Bosutinib comes under the category of a kinase inhibitor drug. It inhibits the development of cancer cells, which are then killed by the body. It stops the signaling pathway of a protein that is required in the life cycle of the cancerous cells and hence prevents them from dividing rapidly. Because bosutinib may impair normal cell growth, various adverse effects may arise.

As bosutinib may impair normal cell growth, various adverse effects may arise. Before you begin therapy, speak with your doctor about the advantages of this medication as well as the dangers associated with its use.
